Setting aside the many feature-based benefits of using SIP to power business VoIP deployments (and there are many!), one of the simplest reasons businesses across America are turning to SIP as a logical replacement of analog PRI systems is the fact that SIP-based systems are far more flexible and scalable. PRI lines can only be ordered in packs of 23; if you have 25 employees, you'd need to order a second bundle of 23 lines! At more than $40 per line, PRIs can be cost-prohibitive. In contrast, SIP Trunks can be added in increments of one, allowing businesses ultimate flexibility when scaling. At a cost of around $10 per Trunk, they are far more economical than PRI lines.
