Backup connection
From Bandipedia
An extra connection to your ISP that can be used in the case that your primary connection goes down. Backup connections allow a customer to have an extra circuit or a "failover" circuit in the case of an outage. Backups may include redundancy, such as running lines to separate gateway routers or POPs, or maybe a simple extra line that can be used if the other line fails.
