CPE
From Bandipedia
Customer Premise Equipment
A devise placed at the premise of the end user of a telecom service used to terminate the service and deliver it as a usable medium to the end user. Most often, CPE is a router terminating a T1 and delivering it as a usable Ethernet signal to be disbursed across a LAN. CPE can also be a IAD when it terminates a VoIP service and translates analog to digital or digital to analog messages. It can be a channel bank when splitting a T1 signal as either voice or data to service a PBX with voice and data for the LAN. CPE can also be a modem for use with cable service.
