Demarcation Point

The demarcation point is the point at which the LEC network ends and connects with the wiring at the customer premises. A demarcation point is also referred to as the demarc, DMARC, MPOE, or minimum point of entry.

In many cases this DMARC must be extended to the customer's actual location in the building. This is common in multi-tenant facilities. This extension is often a required expense of the customer.
