Do 4-way calls impact user licenses?
From Bandipedia
Does an Edgemark Router count a 4-way call as four simultaneous VoIP sessions?
The Edgemark series of VoIP QoS routers by Edgewater are provisioned with “user licenses†meaning that the router will only pass as many simultaneous VoIP sessions as it has licenses programmed into it. When the user’s company grows and requires more simultaneous conversations, the user license must be upgraded.
A common misconception in regard to user licenses is that a 3 or 4-way conference call originating on the user end of this router will count toward the user license limit therefore choking down the amount of calls that other users on the system can make. This is not true, the router only connects the session of the person who originated the call. The Hosted IP-PBX system connects the rest of the legs of the conference call and the Edgemark router counts it as one session.
