Do I need Authoritative DNS for my connection?

The short answer is “probably”. If you intend on running a website or doing email, you need Authoritative DNS. If you only intend on using your connection to surf the web, you don’t need Authoritative DNS. Most Carriers have some sort of Authoritative DNS offering that may or may not come with the purchase price of your connection.
