ELS stands for Enhanced Local Service. An ELS line essentially replaces a standard (POTS) line with a digital IP line. ELS service typically includes local and long-distance service with the ability to make and receive calls worldwide using a broadband connection. ELS service includes regulatory (E911) compliance and can include operator assistance, directory listings, and directory assistance.
