New page
From Bandipedia
If there is an item that you would like to see added to Bandipedia, you've come to the right place. We need to determine what type of item you have, where it belongs, and how to create it. There are three main areas within Bandipedia: Glossary, Telecom Topics, and FAQs.
[edit]
Where should my idea go?
- If your item defines a term, explains a word, or spells out an acronym it belongs in the Glossary. Please find the section header that corresponds to the first letter of the word or acronym that you are adding and click the 'EDIT' button on the right of your screen.
- If your item is of factual base, with or without research, or explains a product or service it belongs in the Telecom Topics section. Please find the correct topic heading before adding your item. For example, an article about SIP belongs in the VoIP section.
- If your item is an opinion peice, a question, or an answer to a previously posed question it belongs in the FAQs.

How do I add my idea?
There are several ways to add a new topic.
- You can directly edit the URL in the address bar of your browser. To do this look at the URL, (let's use the main page as an example) http://wiki.bandwidth.com/wiki/Main_Page, you can see that the last bit after the / is the title of the page we are on, the Main Page. If we simply erase that, which gives us http://wiki.bandwidth.com/wiki/, we can now enter the page name that we want to visit or create.
- You can type a title into the search box on he left of your screen. If, for example, you type 'What is a T1', you will find that your screen will display this message, "No page with 'this exact title' exists, trying full text search". You can simply click the "this exact title" link, and it will create an article with that exact title.
- If you are visiting a page and want to create a new article that links off that page, simply click 'EDIT' at the top of the page. Then scroll down to the bottom, enter the following [[Article Name]] where Article Name is the name of the article you wish to create. Save the page by clicking the 'Save Page' button at the bottom. The page will then show a link Article Name. Simply click this link to begin editing your new page.
- Lastly, you can visit the article creator. This allows you to type an article's title and either create that article or edit an existing article with that title.
