Should I run my own DNS Cache, or should my Carrier do it?
From Bandipedia
Running your own DNS Cache is significantly simpler than Authoritative DNS. All carriers supply DNS Cache servers for your use, but should these servers go down, your organization effectively cannot use the Internet. Most people use the DNS Cache supplied by their Carrier if they don’t already do Authoritative DNS.
