T1 Markets

From Bandipedia

The four major markets of Arizona, Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, and Kingman, have a diverse field of carrier presence. In Phoenix, where Qwest is the local exchange provider, Savvis actually has the best rate on a full T1 of IP connectivity with a price of $434. Many other tier-one carriers are available under the $500 price point also, but Savvis seems to have the best option of them all. Phoenix is also served by Bandwidth.com, Covad, Vonage, Packet 8, and Qwest for VoIP service.

In Tucson, also a Qwest local market, it is a bit harder to find low cost business-grade bandwidth. Wiltel, which is the Williams tier-one backbone, is the only provider in town with T1 rates under the $500 mark as they come in at $435. Tucson has a wide array of VoIP providers including Bandwidth.com, Qwest, Packet 8 and Vonage, but Covad is actually not servicing Tucson.

Flagstaff is home to Qwest and Qwest is not being out done in their home market. A full T1 from Qwest in Flagstaff runs business users a mere $504 per month. While being considered a tier-two market which very little carrier activity at all, Flagstaff businesses still enjoy a relatively low cost IP solution from Qwest.

Kingman is the town that time forgot in regard to internet connectivity. A likely market for small mom and pop style ISP’s considering that the best T1 price from a major tier-one provider is Sprint at $1,950 per month.
