What Are The Most Widely Distributed Router Makes and Models Available?

From Bandipedia

There are a multitude of router makes and models available. The most widely deployed is probably the Cisco model 1721 and 2621. Cisco is the gold standard in the industry because of the scalability it offers. Cisco routers are modular and can terminate anything from a T1 to a frame replay circuit simply by changing the WAN card. Router options from Cisco are likely the more expensive options available also.

Tasman Networks offers great low cost, highly scalable routers. The 1002 and 1004 routers offer high processing power and great scalability at half the price of a comparable Cisco. Netopia is a low cost maker of routers. The 4622XL is an example of a t1 router with no scalability. For a single T1 application, it is resoundingly great, it won’t scale beyond this however. Allied Telesyn’s AR410s is another great low cost router, but again, little scalability options. Efficient Networks and Adtran round out the makers with noticeable presence in the market. Juniper Networks, typically a large switch manufacturer, has also entered the scene with a enterprise class E1/T1 router.
