Media Gateway Control Protocol is more commonly used in a Hosted IP-PBX environment where the features reside on a media gateway server. One such example is through a Sylantro Feature Server that provides a softswitch to deliver Class 5 calling features and also handles call control & call routing. By utilizing MGCP & a Sylantro Feature Server, Hosted IP PBX companies are able to provide their customers their own user portals to make adds and changes to their feature sets
