We take security very seriously here at Bandwidth. Between physical security around our buildings and data centers to procedures in place to protect the personal data of our customers, it’s a full-time job (seriously — we have a full-time security team).
Because of how serious we are about security, we’ve spent more than a year working towards achieving the ISO 27001:2013 certification. To achieve the certification, security compliance was validated by an independent audit firm BVC after a process of demonstrating an ongoing and systematic approach to managing and protecting company and customer data.
In May of 2018 we were awarded that certification, one of the most widely recognized and internationally accepted information security standards.
“Achieving ISO 27001 certification shows our customers and the shareholders of Bandwidth our commitment to information security and best practices. Our customers depend on us to provide the highest levels of protection for their information, the dedication of our security team and technology teams are ensuring that we have safeguards in place when dealing with our customers information.” -Andrew Grimmett, Sr. Director Of Information Security
What is the ISO 27001 Certification?
One of the few standards that uses a top-down, risk-based approach to evaluation, ISO 27001 identifies requirements and specifications for a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) covering Bandwidth’s business processes, people, and infrastructures that operate and support Bandwidth’s messaging, 911, number management, and voice services. The certification process also verified that a robust framework exists for information security risk assessment, threat identification, and rapid response.
