Bandwidth participates in Holt Brothers flag football tournament for third year
For the third straight year, Bandwidth is participating in the Holt Brothers Flag Football Tournament. Supporting the Holt Brothers Foundation and all the work they do, Bandwidth will be fielding two teams for the tournament.
“There’s a lot of excitement for this,” said Daniel Clinton, Bandwidth’s Pricing Manager and the driving force behind Bandwidth’s involvement with the Foundation. “There are sign-ups, tryouts, and practices; the Bandmates take this very seriously. They want to win, but they’re also committed to supporting the Holt Brothers Foundation.”
While the flag football tournament is the capstone event, Bandwidth spends the months leading up to the tournament raising money for the Foundation, with a Pie in the Face fundraiser, silent auctions that can get really competitive (go ahead, try and bid on a John Deere Mug here), and other events.
“We work with a number of charities, but our team really shows up for the Holt Brothers,” said Clinton. “Between volunteering to get pied in the face by your coworkers, including [CEO] David Morken, and getting into some pretty aggressive bidding wars on auction items, our team really gets into the spirit.”
While 2019 will be the third year that Bandwidth participates, last year will be hard to top, having raised more than $20,000 for the Foundation, with Daniel Clinton himself helping to raise $16,000.
The relationship between the Holt Brothers Foundation and Bandwidth is a perfect fit. Both Torry and Terrence Holt attended NC State, where Bandwidth is located, and we share a commitment to our community that pushes us to help.
“It’s weird to say that we get as much out of it as we put in, but it’s true. We’re committed to being good members of the community, and the Holt Brothers Foundation, and the good work they do, is a great way for us to do that,” added Dan Clinton.
Bandwidth is excited for another year of partnering with the Holt Brothers Foundation. Our team, spearheaded by Dan Clinton, are looking forward not just to the flag football tournament, but to all of the events that lead up to.
“We’re really hoping to beat last year’s fundraising number. We’re competitive that way, and the fact that it’s for a good cause makes it all the better,” said Dan.
Helping a good cause
We’re proud of our partnership with the Holt Brothers Foundation. They’re commitment to helping children impacted by cancer is a cause we support wholeheartedly. We look forward to years of supporting the Foundation, and maybe even fielding enough teams for the football tournament to actually win it all (who knows, this could be our year).
