Packet loss

Packet Loss refers to the failed transmission of data across a data network. The causes of failed transmission include, if the amount of data being transmitted exceeds network capabilities, improper software configurations, or failing hardware. Packet Loss is frequently seen as a sign of poor phone call quality and happens when a packet of data is lost in the transfer from one caller to another. When packet loss occurs, the call recipient may hear drop-ins and outs during a voice call.
