The Accounting Manager manages the general ledger accounting team, which accounts for various areas, including but not limited to, fixed assets, payroll, accruals, bad debt, other assets and liabilities.  Responsibilities will include review and approval of journal entries, review of reconciliations and other prepared reports, and facilitation of external reviews and annual audits.  Responsibilities also include management of a team of direct reports to ensure professional development, workload balancing, and completion of quarterly and annual performance reviews. The Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Director of Corporate Accounting and others in the organization to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, SOX controls and external audits.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage month end/year end close tasks and processes to ensure timely and accurate period closes
  • Review journal entries, account balance reconciliations and accounting analyses as part of the monthly close process
  • Manage the Company’s general ledger accounting function
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff accountants, including performance of quarterly and annual performance evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies, including SOX, and other financial and corporate policies. Recommend changes to processes or policies, when necessary.
  • Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Prepare and maintain key accounting documentation, including process narratives
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Assist and/or manage other special projects, as needed

What You Need:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance
  • CPA license
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience with thorough knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • High personal standards for integrity and professional ethics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems

Bonus Points:

  • Master’s degree in accounting
  • Experience in public accounting firm or publicly-traded company
  • Experience in multinational company
  • Experience with Netsuite ERP
