What We Are Looking For:

Bandwidth is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join the Global Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting and compliance activities. You will support the organization on deal structure and review to ensure proper revenue recognition through preparation of detailed contract reviews. You will collaborate with various teams globally including Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, and Deal Desk to assist stakeholders in deal negotiation, while adhering to corporate policies, processes and systems. This position requires the ability to perform technical accounting research, articulate the relevant accounting considerations, and provide timely and actionable advice to key stakeholders across the global organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the international Sales, Finance, and Legal departments to guide deal negotiations and help structure contracts that achieve organizational revenue objectives.
  • Perform accounting research for contracts and document conclusions related to the revenue accounting treatment.
  • Prepare detailed revenue recognition checklists on significant and complex revenue contracts
  • Review complex deal structures to ensure compliance with revenue recognition guidelines
  • Coordinate deal or agreement review and approval by stakeholders using defined processes and systems
  • Serve as Team Lead for Other Revenue segment; working closely with product teams and other external parties to ensure accurate monthly reporting and forecasting  
  • Assist with the period-end close process, preparing account reconciliations and journal entries 
  • Prepare quarterly analyses to support revenue recognition and results
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies and processes globally
  • Assist in analyzing standalone selling price as it relates to historical price studies for our services offerings
  • Identify and develop best practices and process improvements
  • Work closely with other departments inside and outside of finance on special projects as needed
  • Assist with audit preparation and liase with external auditors

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts
  • 2-4 years of progressive financial accounting experience
  • CPA, or CPA eligible preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with software/telecom industry a plus
  • Understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition
  • Demonstrated business insight with the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Results-oriented and motivated with a sense of personal accountability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to interact successfully with senior management
  • Good problem-solving, with emphasis on executable solutions
  • Ability to perform financial modeling and review accuracy of projections and cost build ups
  • Experience with (SFDC), and NetSuite is a plus
