911 Dynamic Location Routing

In today’s mobile world, 911 access can be complex and complicated. With Bandwidth’s Dynamic Location Routing, you can ensure that emergency services get there on time, every time—with nothing left to chance.

911 is the most important call people will ever make. If you’re working with customers whose offices are part of a huge campus or high rise office building, getting emergency responders to a person in need can be complicated. It can make a life-saving difference to provide more accurate location information at the time of the 911 call automatically—that’s what Bandwidth’s Dynamic Location Routing service can do.

With Dynamic Location Routing, office employees, university students, or app users can freely move around a campus or office building—and their 911 service will always give accurate location information. That means emergency responders are prepared with better information—down to the building, floor, or room from which the call is placed saving valuable time.

Dynamic Location Routing in Action

Operations Manager Ed

He’s hosting a meeting on the 44th floor of his office building in conference room C. A co-worker fell while standing on a chair to adjust the projector—and they think his leg is broken.

Co-ed Courtney

She’s calling 911 from the dining hall on West Campus of her university. Her friend has a food allergy and is having a serious reaction.

Mobile App User Susan

Susan’s feeling some chest pains while playing a round of golf. She uses an app on her smartwatch to call 911 and alert her doctor at the same time.

In each of these situations, traditional 911 service would typically result in emergency responders showing up at the ‘main’ office location or standard home address. Dynamic Location Routing takes 911 a step further—sending emergency response teams to highly specific locations on the first call.

How it works

Sophisticated 911 routing that uses PIDF-LO (Presence Information Data Format-Location Object), a standard that’s used to represent an address/ location in XML format. This means that the most accurate location information can be sent with the call at the time of the call. Facilities managers can more easily manage location information for their employees and guests as they move around their campus or high-rise.

Who’s it for?
