SUPP is short for supplemental and refers to an additional request on a port order to the losing carrier. A SUPP request can be anything from changing the due date (most common) to correcting something on the order due to a rejection.
Bandwidth allows up to 3 SUPP requests on any order after the FOC is received, since many carriers will cancel an order on the 4th SUPP. Once the FOC is received, a SUPP request can only be sent in an attempt to change the desired due date. SUPP requests can't be sent to the carrier with a new due date (no matter whether the FOC has been received or not) for anything more than 30 days from the current business date. Any SUPP request submitted less than 48 hours before the FOC date is considered best effort, meaning there's a chance the numbers may still port on their original FOC date. In addition, the original FOC date may be lost and the order may need to be restarted once a SUPP is issued.
If you are submitting a SUPP to change your order’s desired due less than 24 hours before and 10 minutes until your scheduled FOC date and time, you will need to accept the risk of a short-notice SUPP via the UI before the request is processed. If submitting a short-notice SUPP via API, your acceptance of risk will return in payload as an order note.
There may be costs associated with SUPP requests. If Bandwidth incurs additional costs as a result of customer-requested SUPPs, these costs will be passed along to the customer.
