Universal Platform Upgrade from Legacy Global Platform FAQs

What do I have to do for an Upgrade?

We have streamlined the Upgrade process to the Universal Platform to ensure the smoothest transition. Grouped into series of waypoints on a journey; at a high level:

  • Waypoint 1: Connect with your Account Manager.

    • Together with your Account Manager, you will kick off any required upgrade paperwork, which is unique account to account.

  • Waypoint 2: Account Configuration

    • The Bandwidth Implementation Team will create your Universal Platform account and assist in the initial configurations and testing, ensuring that all products are operating as expected on your new Universal Platform account.

  • Waypoint 3: TN Upgrades

    • Using our self-service portal, or APIs, you will be able to move your TN’s in a downtime-free manner from your legacy account to the Universal Platform.

What happens to my data in the legacy Bandwidth Global Platform?

We recommend you export any data you wish to retain before you complete your upgrade to the Universal Platform. Data that is required to operate your active services will now be maintained in the Bandwidth Universal Platform; this data includes Subscriber Data or End-User Information, such as LAR and Emergency Addresses. You will be able to access legacy CDRs from the legacy Bandwidth Global Portal until March 2027 or until you notify Bandwidth to close your legacy Bandwidth Global Portal account (i.e., you have completed the Upgrade process). Some historical information such as past invoices or unused non-regulatory data will not be available in the Universal Platform.

How will Bandwidth support me during the Upgrade Process?

Do I have to change APIs?

Yes. The Universal Platform, powered by the Bandwidth App has a unique set of APIs. We have a dedicated Developer Site that collates all of the Universal Platform APIs into a single source and provides details of how to upgrade from the Legacy Global API.

How much time will I have to upgrade?

We have made the upgrade process easy and self-serviceable. We ask that you complete your upgrade within 3 months.

What happens to my money left in my wallet or pre-pay usage credits?

If a balance remains on your legacy Bandwidth Global Platform account, we will transfer the funds to your new Bandwidth Universal Platform account balance once you complete the Upgrade process. Please notify Bandwidth when you are ready to close your legacy Bandwidth Global Platform account.

How will I be billed on the Universal Platform?

You will receive an invoice reflecting the services your account consumed during the usage period. In accordance with local regulations, you may receive individual invoices per-country.

How will I pay my Universal Platform Invoice?

To pay your Universal Platform Invoice, please visit pay.bandwidth.com. We accept Credit Card, ACH/Wire and Check payments. Payment instructions are also included on your invoice.
