Bandwidth international project porting guidelines

International project porting follows a similar process to domestic project porting, but with added complexity due to country-specific regulations, carrier requirements, and lead times. Please review these guidelines carefully before submitting an international project port request.

Criteria for international project ports

Each international project port submission must meet the following criteria:

  • Maximum of 3 countries per submission

  • Maximum of 3 losing carriers per country

  • Maximum of 1 number type per submission

  • Minimum of 500 phone numbers per losing carrier

Note: If your project port spans more than 3 countries or losing carriers, or includes a mix of number types (e.g., geographic, mobile, or toll-free), please split it into multiple submissions. Not sure how your numbers are classified? Please open a ticket with the Bandwidth Porting Team and we'll be happy to scrub* the numbers for you.

*A scrub is a breakdown of the phone numbers' current carriers and number types. This helps ensure your submission meets the criteria above before it enters the porting queue.

If your order meets the criteria above, please open a ticket with the Bandwidth Project Porting Team to get started. We'll walk you through the submission process and provide the correct spreadsheet template for your countries of interest.

Service Level Agreement

Unlike domestic project ports, international project ports don’t carry a standard 3-week Service Level Agreement (SLA). Each country has its own regulatory requirements and carrier processes, and some lead times extend up to 45 days.

We’ll provide you with country-specific lead time estimates once we receive and review your completed project port spreadsheet. Please plan your migration timeline accordingly based on the feedback received from the Bandwidth Porting Team.

Important: In some countries, port dates are set by the losing carrier, not Bandwidth. While we make every effort to align port dates across multiple countries, we cannot guarantee simultaneous completion. Please make sure to communicate this to your end users to manage the expectations of their service migration accordingly.
