Updated over 2 weeks ago

What's happening?

Bandwidth has become aware of a coordinated messaging event by bad actors across numerous communications providers. The content of the messages violates SHAFT policy as hate speech. These messages are in clear violation of both the Bandwidth AUP and industry CTIA guidelines.

What do I need to do?

Please be vigilant and on the lookout for content that matches the below profile. The originators of the traffic are using phone numbers on various platforms. These occurrences are quickly activated, sent, and then disconnected, likely repeating this process to avoid detection, along with message manipulation to avoid filtering through the messaging ecosystem.

Content warning: Contains hate speech and offensive content; included only to aid customers in detection of similar messages.

Bandwidth is actively blocking this traffic and will alert you if we identify content matching this profile originating from your account. We ask that you also notify us if you have any information relating to the source of this content by opening a ticket, or need help disconnecting numbers being used for this purpose.
