Short Code Provisioning Moratoriums

Carriers may freeze or limit Short Code provisioning activities throughout the year at their discretion. Please refer to the table below for the current Short Code Provisioning status by the carrier.

AT&T

No defined freezes however short code approvals may be delayed the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas. It would be expected that US SC still be provisioned 2 days after submission to AT&T unless the second day falls on a holiday.

T-Mobile

• Nov. 27, 2025 – Nov. 28, 2025
• Dec. 24, 2025 – Jan. 2, 2026, **
** Please note that it isn't a full freeze, campaigns will not be certified but they can still be onboarded.

Verizon Wireless

• No short code provisioning the week of Thanksgiving, November 27, 2025
• No short code provisioning during Christmas and New Year’s Holiday – the first provisioning is expected to take place on January 12, 2026.

US Cellular

All SMS and MMS campaign-related activities should be paused by end of day during the following periods:
• November 26, 2025 – December 2, 2025
• December 23, 2025 – December 26, 2025
• December 30, 2025 – January 2, 2026

Google Voice

• Thanksgiving + Black Friday & Cyber Monday – From November 20, 2025 – December 2, 2025
• Christmas Holiday Period – From December 15, 2025 – January 5, 2025

Note: All other carriers have confirmed they will not have any holiday blackout dates and business will be conducted as usual.
