Updates to RCS for Business agent logo display in Google Messages

What's happening?

Google has introduced two updates to how RCS for Business agent logos appear in Google Messages on Android devices:

  • Logo shape: Agent logos will change from a circular display to a rounded square.

  • Verification checkmark: Senders that have completed Google's verification process will display a checkmark next to the agent display name.

What do I need to know?

The updated logo specifications are as follows:

Attribute

Specification

Size

224 × 224px

Shape

Square (displays as rounded square in Google Messages)

Background

Use solid color (recommended). Avoid transparent backgrounds, particularly for dark mode visibility.

Padding

Leave sufficient padding around the logo to prevent cropping.

What do I need to do?

No action is required for most agents, as both updates will be applied automatically.

If your current agent logo is circular with a transparent background, it may continue to appear as a circle after this change. To ensure consistent branding, Bandwidth recommends updating your logo to a square format with a solid, non-transparent background. Any updates to an already-launched agent must follow the standard update process and will require additional brand approval and fees.
