Bandwidth Emergency Services status page

The Bandwidth Emergency Services status page is an enhanced, private, and secure page where Bandwidth posts detailed information on outage-related incidents impacting Emergency Services. You can subscribe to receive notifications about these incidents via email, text message, webhook, or ATOM/RSS feed.

Note: When you’re redirected to the Emergency Services status page from the notification, you’ll have to authenticate with your username and password to view it.

How do I get access and subscribe?

  1. Please start a support chat, requesting access to the Emergency Services status page for you and/or your team members.

  2. Requests may take up to 5 business days to process; you’ll receive an automated email outlining steps to confirm your account and set your password.

    Note: This account is independent from any other Bandwidth account and does not connect with any existing user or support accounts you may have.

  3. Once you log in, click Subscribe to Updates in the top right corner, select a notification method (email, text message, webhook, or Atom/RSS feed), and subscribe.

  4. You’ll receive a notification when an Emergency Services incident occurs. It will also contain a link to view all existing incidents and historical events.

What information will be shared?

Bandwidth will generally share the following details about Emergency Services incidents:

  • Bandwidth-assigned Incident ID

  • Incident start date/time

  • Best known cause of outage (if identified)

  • How the outage potentially impacts the 911 special facility

  • Expected restoration date/time (if known)

  • Areas impacted, either by a US state or by a PSAP via FCC ID

  • Resolved time (if known)

If Bandwidth has an incident, should my organization send notifications to impacted PSAPs?

The FCC has determined that Originating Service Providers (OSPs) cannot simply rely upon underlying third-party providers to manage their reporting compliance obligations on their behalf. It will be up to the Bandwidth Customer’s organization to make a final determination regarding whether notification to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) is required.
