Managing users in the Bandwidth App

Updated this week

Note: Only account admins can create new users in the Bandwidth App.

How do I create a new user?

  1. Log in to the Bandwidth App.

  2. In the side navigation bar, select Account and click Users.

  3. Click Add and navigate to the User Information section.

  4. Under Administration level, select whether the user should be a Basic User or an Account Admin.

  5. Enter the username, first name, last name, email, and an optional work phone (in E.164 format).

Note: If the username and/or email already exists in the Bandwidth App, you'll see an error. In that case, please enter a different username and/or email. The username can't be changed once the user has been created, so please make sure to double-check it before saving.

  6. Click Roles and select which account roles the user should have access to. For more information, see the User roles section below.

  7. Click Accounts and select which account(s) the user should have access to. If your organization has multiple Bandwidth App accounts, you can grant the user access to them here.

  8. Click Save Changes. The user will then receive an email with their username and a link to create a password. Please note that the password must not contain the username, first name, last name, or email address.

How do I deactivate a user?

Note: Users can be deactivated, but they can't be deleted.

  1. Log in to the Bandwidth App.

  2. In the side navigation bar, select Account and click Users.

  3. Select the user you want to deactivate and set the toggle switch to Deactivated.
