FAQs
Alphanumeric Sender IDs for messaging allow you to send SMS messages to your customers from a custom ID instead of a phone number or short code. These messages arrive in the default messaging application, so customers can immediately recognize the sender, without even opening the message.
You can send outbound SMS from Alphanumeric Sender IDs. Inbound messages and MMS are not supported.
Businesses rely on branded sender IDs for order updates, appointment reminders, security alerts, and other time‑sensitive notifications.
Alphanumeric Sender IDs can be up to 11 characters long, though registration requirements vary by country. To prevent spoofing and ensure compliance, most markets require you to submit your chosen sender name, business details, and sample message templates for approval. Some regions also require a letter of authorization or brand verification documents. Since preregistration is mandatory in many international markets and approval times vary, we recommend submitting your details early to ensure global delivery.
