Custom SIP URIs for Bandwidth’s Voice API
Bandwidth’s Voice API now supports custom SIP URIs, so your SIP addresses can reflect your business, not your application ID.
Bandwidth customers can define their own SIP user-parts (e.g. support, sales, alice) and route inbound calls through a Bandwidth-hosted custom subdomain. That matters for any team building a contact center, reselling voice infrastructure, or simply wanting a SIP topology that maps to their organization.
This release also ships three supporting capabilities. 1. SIP users can be assigned to one SIP domain at a time, with support for reassigning users between domains in a single call. 2. Customer-supplied SIP headers (X-* and User-to-User ) now pass through to callback URLs, so call context (priority flags, account metadata, routing signals) reaches your application logic instead of getting dropped at the webhook boundary. 3. IP Access Lists let you define named, reusable CIDR ranges at the account level and attach them to any SIP domain, adding a network-layer control on top of credential authentication.
Existing SIP URIs and endpoints are unaffected.
